What a gorgeous place. I sat at the bar - always the best spot. Thoughtful takes on classics that tasted amazing and were beautifully presented. I also had a delicious pretzel with butter. I think the bartender's name was Francesco - Italian. He took time to talk in depth about the drinks and, being a quieter weeknight, had some chats with us who were sitting at the bar. Will be back. Bar Ferdinand is such a cool hidden cocktail bar tucked away in the city. The location down Alfred Place gives it that classic Melbourne laneway bar feeling, making it a great spot for after work drinks or a relaxed night out. The atmosphere inside is cosy, dimly lit, and stylish without feeling pretentious. It has that intimate cocktail bar vibe where you can comfortably sit for hours chatting over drinks. I had a pretzel, overall, such a great little cocktail spot above a steak place with a relaxed atmosphere, quality drinks, and tasty snacks. Came here for the first time 22 May 8pm ish. Quiet atmosphere but the young blonde female staff member needs training on how to smile and make customers actually feel welcome, and not an annoyance. Premium prices for drinks (which is as expected), but let down by an unfriendly host whose attitude was picked up by all four of our group. Happy to recommend but tweak the attitude a bit. No food ordered but just cocktails (which we’re very happy to recommend). Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: $60–80
