If you find yourself on the splendid Costa dei Trabocchi, an unmissable stop is Vasto, with its Punta Aderci nature reserve, and to complete the experience you cannot miss a stop at Osteria Da Ferri, a true point of reference for those who wish to discover the authentic flavors of Vastese cuisine. The restaurant, located on a roundabout near the port of Vasto, in Punta Penna enjoys a splendid panoramic veranda overlooking the sea. Here, the extremely friendly staff welcomed us with great professionalism, guiding us on an unforgettable gastronomic journey. We started with a rich single dish of seafood appetizers, both hot and cold: a delicious scallop au gratin, octopus with potatoes, seafood salad, couscous with prawns, cod flan and much more. A perfect prelude to the main dish of our lunch: the famous Vastese brodetto. Served in a boiling terracotta pan, the broth was an explosion of flavours, with a generous variety of fish and an intensely flavored tomato sauce. The final touch was the addition of spaghetti in the crock with the remaining sauce, transforming the dish into an irresistible spaghetti alla Vastese. All accompanied by an excellent Pecorino from Cantina Pasetti, expertly recommended by the dining room staff, who knew how to enhance each course with great attention. To end on a sweet note, we delighted in a homemade cake and artisanal fiordilatte ice cream, enriched with delicate saffron threads: a real treat. It all ended with a coffee and a more than fair bill, considering the quality of the dishes and the overall experience. Osteria Da Ferri is an obligatory stop for those who want to discover the true flavors of the Vastese tradition, in a welcoming and refined context. Congratulations to all the staff!
