AVOID. Worst place on Lake Como. Queued 20 mins for ice cream. They rudely told us at the counter that they only take cash. I heard someone else saying they found a rat hair in their food sounds like it was a blessing that we didn't eat here so we're not spending the rest of the holiday on the toilet. So many other restaurants there, seriously I would choose one of them.

Bar Il Molo probably has one of the best views you will find in Varenna and of Lake Como. It is beautifully located and the yellow themed decor makes it super picture worthy. From what we were told, the terrace that is directly in front of the lake isn’t available if you don’t have a reservation, but you still get a pretty nice view from the other side. The drinks were very good and not too pricey, we ordered two aperol spritz. The food was good, but it’s definitely not authentic italian food, if that’s what you’re looking for. The price is very reasonable for the portion and the service is quick and friendly.
