We stopped at this pizzeria while passing through on Saturday evening. Everything was closed, out of season Santa Maria is like this and we wanted to try it as we didn't know it. The scent upon entering was what captured me. The environment is not very well kept and a bit "down-to-earth", but clean and welcoming. The pizzas, with excellent prices for a tourist location, were both very good. High cornice and thin center just how I like it! The dessert I got, ricotta and pear, although frozen, I really liked it, it felt like it was of good quality with even small pieces of pear inside. The service, managed by the pizza chef's son, was very kind, helpful and fast. What can I say, a pizzeria worth considering! I ate the most disgusting pizza of my life here. The Ortolana pizza should be topped with zucchini and eggplant. It was, but they were swimming in oil, had probably been fried in a pan in a lot of oil beforehand, and there were very, very few vegetables. There was a thick layer of mozzarella underneath instead, that was it. The waiter was very nice, the place was good, so if you want to go there for a drink, it's fine there.
