I visited this bar with expectations shaped by its menu descriptions and poetic drink names. I ordered a non-alcoholic soda named “Meikyo Shisui” (明鏡止水). Visually, the drink was presentable and worth a photo, though not particularly striking. In terms of taste, however, it was overwhelmingly sweet and difficult to finish. The food we ordered was solid and enjoyable. My companion ordered an alcoholic cocktail. His impression was that the volume was noticeably small—approximately half of what one would normally expect—and that the flavor was very simple and flat, lacking depth or layers. When it became clear that one drink was not being consumed, a bartender came to ask how it was. While this could be interpreted as attentive, the interaction felt more like a check than a reassurance, placing the responsibility on the guest rather than offering guidance or adjustment. We also noticed a clear inconsistency in how guests were treated when leaving. Other customers were escorted out, had the elevator called for them, and received formal farewells. We did not receive the same treatment, despite having done nothing inappropriate—a response that felt unnecessary, if not faintly ironic.
