I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with a recent experience at your establishment on Saturday, October 19th , around 10:20 PM. My Friend Terrese , and I ordered rockfish tacos, but unfortunately, our experience turned into a distressing one. Shortly after consuming the tacos, we all began to feel extremely unwell. Each of us experienced severe nausea, which culminated in vomiting, and we were also struck with a debilitating case of diarrhea. As frequent patrons of Barcocina, we have always enjoyed your food and atmosphere, which makes this experience particularly disappointing. We believe that food safety and quality should be a top priority, and it is concerning that our meal led to such adverse health effects. I hope you take this matter seriously and investigate further to ensure that no other customers have a similar experience in the future. For future reference and for any restaurant you should always call immediately if you suspect any kind of food poisoning. At this point, receiving this message on Tuesday 10/22 does not do much to help you or us track down any potential issues. However, I can assure you that everything we have in house is fresh. The rockfish comes to us frozen and last week we received it 3 times. Monday, Thursday and Saturday. Most of the time it stays frozen until it is portioned and used. But it is never thawed for more than a day and it is always kept at a proper temperature when thawed. We go through a lot of rockfish tacos and never at any point in time is the fish in house older then 3 days. Which is well under the limit even if it was thawed. Which it is not. We also use frozen vs fresh for all of these above safety precautions. I noticed that you stated that the service and atmosphere were also sub par. We strive for exceptional service always and it’s very very rare when someone doesn’t vibe with the atmosphere.
