Disappointing dinner at Barking Frog. I had been wanting to visit Barking Frog for quite some time, so our group booked a reservation a week in advance expecting a memorable evening. Sadly, the food did not live up to expectations. The halibut my husband ordered had an unpleasantly soft, mushy texture, resembling purée rather than flaky fish. My duck breast was rubbery. To make matters worse, our friend ordered the lamb chops, and the server never even asked for their preferred temperature. When the dish arrived, the meat was served practically raw. It is very disappointing to see such basic culinary execution issues at an establishment of this caliber. Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $100+

This restaurant first and foremost has wonderful service. They were extremely accommodating with my toddler and kind. We had a larger group of people and they still did not fall short on being attentive which was awesome. The food is quite honestly overpriced in my opinion. Is the food good, sure, not great.. just good, but for the price, there are many other restaurants in Bellevue, Kirkland, or even Woodinville that I would much prefer. I had the scallops, the scallops themselves are good, the everything else on the plate is good, but it’s kind of an odd pairing together. The sauce that is drizzled on the plate would have been much better suited for a pork or chicken dish, it wasn’t complementary to seafood. The bread and butter were good, again nothing great. My husband had the duck, personally I was not a fan. It was a bit game-y. Tried a little bit of various dishes and none were a “WOW”. So again, for the price, I would choose elsewhere. Brunch menu looks better than dinner though so I would be willing to go back and try that because the service was great. Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
