Great service team, she was very friendly. I just don’t recall really liking the meal I ordered. I did really like the fresh squeezed Orange Juice though, that was nice. Service: Dine in Meal type: Breakfast

I wanted to like it but, even if our  meals were comped, I couldn't. I must be blunt, the food was bad! The Fetching Mrs. Rat and I had to wait twenty minutes after ordering to get our food. The order was simple, One sausage and cheese omelette, with rye toast and hash browns. One ham and cheese omelette, with rye toast and hash browns and two coffees. An omelette should be fluffy, not thin and rubbery! I'm not sure how many eggs were used, but there were not enough. The actual egg portion of both omelettes were so thin, I thought I was eating sausage and cheese wrapped in a crepe. TFMR commented that her omelette was chewy. I thought they were so thin and rubbery that it was difficult to cut them with a fork. Usually the sausage used in omelettes is a chopped up patty or link, this sausage was in pellets, much like rabbit pellets. And while I have never had the pleasure of eating rabbit pellets, the sausage tasted like what I think rabbit pellets would taste like. The "choice" of cheese was some sort of generic american. If you are not going to offer a choice, then don't put it on the menu! I asked for cheddar, "we don't have that hon" was the reply. If I want to be "honed" I will head to Shades on South High. TFMR commented that her little ham cubes were cute. Speaking of said ham cubes, there were a good number of them in my omelette, almost making it sausage, ham, and cheese. There were a few pluses. One, the coffee saved the day. Two, the rye toast was actually toasted and it was sliced thick. Three, even though our server "honed" me, she did a great job. My coffee cup was never less than half full. I understand that the same people that own the Jack & Benny's on High Street now own the Barnstormer Cafe, in fact it is now named Jack & Benny's Barnstormer Diner. Over the years, I have heard the Jack & Benny's on High was good for breakfast. If the Barnstormer is any indication, I will never darken J & B's door.
