Came here with a small group of ladies, excited for a relaxing day of wine tasting. What we got instead was a live performance of “We Don’t Want You Here: A Dramatic Reading by the Tasting Room Staff.” From the jump, the staff made it crystal clear we were an inconvenience. They weren’t just cold — they were loud about it, speaking within earshot so we’d know just how unhappy they were to see us. One even went out of her way to tell us — quite pointedly — that she had to come in on her day off. As if we had personally summoned her from her couch and forced her into the vineyard at corkscrew-point. We weren’t rude. We weren’t rowdy. We were just a friendly group trying to enjoy some wine and support a local business. But the vibe was so unwelcoming, we didn’t even stay to taste the wine. Honestly? We didn’t need to. The attitude alone left a bad enough taste in our mouths. Plenty of better and friendlier wineries in the area!

My friend and I were in town for a girl's get-away and we are so glad we stopped in at Barren Ridge Vineyards! Not only was the wine excellent, but the friendliness of the people also really made our visit special! We met the owners who were so pleasant and took time to talk to us as if we were family. The person pouring our wine was so personable and we even met her dog Jack who made us feel right at home! We look forward to coming back soon and enjoying the wine and the good company!
