Thai cooks working in Europe or the US usually adjust a little bit to satisfy the Western clients and their delicate palates. It may be a thoughtful adjustment with nice results, or a disappointing catastrophe. Basil & Lime, fortunately, does the first thing. It's probably not the curry you got on one of the Thai islands, but surely you won't regret eating it. The dishes are a little heavier than in Asia, with more meat and different kinds of veggies. But in the end, the food is tasty and fresh. Good for lunch.

After all that time I spent living in Warsaw, I never made it to Basil & Lime. There it was on Pulawska, and I'd pass it on a weekly basis but never got around to it... So when I was in town recently after two years away, a friend suggested lunch. We were in the vicinity, and decided this would be our choice. We were dining at an off hour as it was quiet and not crowded. The server was really great, and we got a chance to talk to him a bit as we finished up and left. My friend and I had a lovely, relaxing conversation while we ate and the atmosphere and AC were the perfect combination for a relaxing respite in the middle of our day. I ordered pork in a garlic sauce served with rice - a Basil & Lime special. I really liked it, albeit it was a tad spicy. Presentation was beautiful, and I would definitely order it again. I also had a thai tea and enjoyed that as well, though it wasn't anything writing home about. Overall, a nice pleasant atmosphere, great location, friendly service, and tasty food. If you're looking for some Asian cuisine in Warsaw and want to get outside the center, this is a great option!
