In Qatari culture ( speaking as an Qatari woman, born and raised ) there is difference between كباب و كفته but here in this restaurant specially this location they don’t understand and they will make it your fault for saying it correctly They waiters are slow and don’t understand Arabic or English and the manager WILL make it your fault and will not solve THEIR problem instead he’ll blame it on you and leave Meal type: Dinner Price per person: QAR 50–100 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Excellent dinner at Basta Restaurant in Souk Waqif. The food was exceptional, well executed, and full of flavour. Service was equally impressive, especially from the manager Sherif, who demonstrated true professionalism. Having worked in the hospitality industry for over 32 years, I truly appreciate quality service. Sherif was attentive, calm, and genuinely caring—making eye contact, ensuring comfort throughout the meal, and offering excellent menu recommendations without ever being pushy.
