The New York striploin was honestly unacceptable. I ordered my steak medium rare, yet it was extremely tough, chewy, and difficult to eat. After a few bites, I was genuinely wondering whether this was even the correct cut of meat. A New York striploin should not require this much effort to chew. And this wasn't just my steak. Multiple people in our group also ordered the New York striploin and had the exact same experience. Everyone agreed that the steaks were tough and chewy. Looking through other reviews, it also seems like we're far from the only customers to have this problem—there are similar complaints about the steak being so tough that people's jaws hurt after a few bites and that it wasn't worth finishing. At that point, it's hard to write this off as one unlucky cut of meat. If multiple steaks at the same table are consistently tough, and other customers are reporting the same thing, there appears to be a serious problem with the quality of this dish. The BBQ ribs, on the other hand, were enjoyed by the guests who ordered them, so those seemed to be a much better choice. Our server was also excellent—friendly, attentive, and professional—which was one of the few highlights of the meal. But ultimately, when you're ordering a steak at a grillhouse and the steak is this tough and chewy, that's a major problem. I would absolutely not order the New York striploin here again. My group has been waiting for over thirty minutes and counting for our bills to be provided (and then corrected). The restaurant knew our group was coming and insisted it had capacity. Our meal is going on 2.5 hours now. Unacceptable. Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3 Order type: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–30

The Bâton Rouge Grillhouse & Bar is a wholesome establishment. The services were excellent. There is limited vegan options; however, the server and chef worked with me to special make a couple of cuisines that were vegan friendly which was much appreciated and well received. The ingredients appeared fresh, excellent quality, and well presented. There are multiple vegetarian options to choose from. The staff were friendly and welcoming as well. This was a good experience, overall. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $40–50 Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options are available. Dietary restrictions: Vegan options made upon request. Parking options: Free of charge parking lot Parking: Parking outside the establishment.
