This place with takeaway food is suitable for those clients who like to have dinner on the go. If you look through the guests' comments, the staff is accommodating at this spot. I LOVE the food here. The jambalaya is absolutely incredible and so are the collard greens. I can't stop ordering the same thing here because I love it so much. The staff are also extremely friendly and welcoming, even when they're busy. We had a good time at Bayou BBQ & Grill. Firstly, the service was great. We really loved our server (with the yellow eyeshadow & tattoos). Total sweetheart who made the dining experience easy & fun. We also got to chit chat with the bartender & the owner, both of whom were funny & pleasant. We started with the queso fundido & it was BOMB. The house made tortilla chips were toasted to perfection with satisfying little air bubbles in the center. Good for crunch & good for scooping. My partner ordered the special cowboy steak & I ordered the grilled catfish. We both got sweet potato mash & garlic string beans as our sides. The catfish was phenomenal - fishy, but in a good way. The flavor of the fish was unique & addicting, albeit a bit too salty. The steak was tasty, but it was also $42 or so, which we didn't realize until we got the check. Oops. Overall, a good date night. We will be back. Thanks!

A complete disappointment, but what do you expect from a Northerner trying to serve Southerner and Cajun food? Now don't get me wrong...if he had passion for the culture and the food, then geographical location doesn't matter. But not in this case. The owner is all about profit...while inappropriately serving local Connecticut people Cajun & Southern food, especially when they don't know how it is suppose to taste.

I ordered grilled catfish, collard greens, red red beans & rice. When I received the food, I had to have them redo the fish because it looked bland (I later found out they baked it in oven). The greens were so sour and sweet with vinegar and sugar, that my wife gagged up what little bit she ate. We are from the south (Texas) to be exact where BBQ, Mexican, and Cajun/Creole all in one state. When my wife and I told him about how we were not happy about the food the next day he was so defensive about it and what my wife posted on Yelp. Not only did he NOT give my money back (I returned the food by the way) he called the police on me because I didn't leave after repeatedly asking for my refund.

Do not go to this place for service if you're from Connecticut or the New England area in general. His food is not complimentary to true way that BBQ/CAJUN actually tastes. To my fellow Southern people...it's best you don't go because this food is so disrespectful you'll want to burn his place to the ground
