You can visit this restaurant if you appear to be near Robson Street. Visitors highlight that they like the menu of Malaysian and Thai cuisines at Belachan Kitchen. This place offers you tasty ginger chicken, tofu and chicken and rice. Trying good vanilla ice cream is a nice experience here. Most likely, you'll return to this spot later to taste delicious wine.

This restaurant is well known for its great service and friendly staff, that is always ready to help you. You will like fair prices. There is an exotic ambiance and homey decor at Belachan Kitchen. But this place hasn't earned a high rating from Google users.

One of my favourite restaurants, but is it true that it is now permanently closed? Will they re-open or open under new name/ownership but same delicious food? Any info? Please. :)

So I had a Groupon and that's why I chose Belachan Kitchen but I love Malaysian food so it was not a hardship. The Groupon menu was a set menu except that you get a choice of soup. I think that I paid $22 for the Groupon (don't quote me as it was a while ago) and if so  it was a good deal and I would be tempted to return as it was a nice experience (Oh! So that's the point of the Groupon to start with!) We chose the Tung Yam Kung Tiger Prawn Soup (the option was a chicken and coconut soup) which I enjoyed greatly. My partner (who is the pickier of us) was put off by the strong Kaffir Lime flavour but I munched happily on a piece of the leaf that was in the soup. The prawns must be added just a minute before serving as they were nicely cooked and still had that nice snap. Although everything on the menu seems to be marked spicy, this was the only dish that left me glowing warm.  Next came a couple of Thai Style Spring Rolls  with dipping sauce and Roti Canai. Both were nice. The curry sauce with the roti seemed maybe a little thicker than I am used to which I enjoyed. Our mains were Chicken Fried Rice (nice with lots of garlic), Red Curry Chicken (with some fresh bell peppers) and a sort of combination of Sambal Eggplant and Sambal Green Beans. The fragrance of the little salted shrimp arrived in force with the dish but their flavour was subtle and this proved to be my favorite taste treat of the evening. We finished with fried bananas and a very flavourful vanilla ice dream. The staff were very nice and this is a very attractive upstairs restaurant on Robson.
