Bencott is an interesting restaurant with brilliant staff. But watch out for overcharging!! My partner and I went on a recommendation from our hostel. They got a beef ragu (€16) and I got the full meat menu (€25), which included a starter, first main, second main and a glass of wine. We also got a bottle of water to share (€2). The starter, bruschetta, was incredible with deep and rich flavours - best part of the meal. The beef ragu was good, the meat was incredible but, pasta and sauce were quite average. We also got a meatball and sausage, meatball was okay - nothing incredible, sausage was like the beef ragu - amazing. The funniest part was when the owner got in a massive fight in the kitchen for about 4 minutes. He came through to collect our plates and slammed them into the sink. Thankfully, our hostel warned that the owner could be like this and as such we found it funny; the others did not find it amusing unfortunately. Overall the food was good, especially the beef. However, when we got the bill we were a little shocked by the price, it was €57.20. Charged for two bottles of water when we clearly only had one, and charged for a glass of wine, even though it clearly says it's included in the full meat meal. We thought it would be €41, but were charged €2 per cover (not too unexpected as we've seen it elsewhere by now), and a 10% service charge! That wasn't mentioned before hand. I asked them to remove the water and that brought the price down to €55. We didn't realise the €4 charge was a glass of wine, we thought it was a tiny side dish we got, but since we can't read Italian we had no idea.
