I am grateful that the seaweed is separated from the rice balls my daughter eats I am grateful because there was a time when I felt like eating seaweed and not feeling like eating it I was so happy to be able to eat a delicious Japanese bento in Bend!! ︎ Service: Take out Meal type: Lunch Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I can't believe I haven't written a review yet because we've been coming here for at least 8 years. It is the most authentic Japanese food in Bend and it's so comforting and homey. This is our favorite place to get food in the whole town. Everything is made fresh and arranged so carefully and with thought, and balanced with tiny bits of veggies and radish pickle. We almost always do take out because the restaurant is open for lunch, and it's a work day lunch for us. However, there are a few counter seats inside and a picnic table outside. Arigato gozaimasu, Yuki and team, for taking such good care of us all these years! We are fans forever! Vegetarian options: You can have tofu as the protein for any dish and the sides are all vegetarian. Parking: There are clearly marked spots for the restaurant and I've never seen it completely full as most people do take out. Kid-friendliness: They have kids bentos. Wheelchair accessibility: The whole restaurant is accessible however it is narrow. When I read how they started the business, I was moved. My husband was on a business trip to Japan in March, 2011 and had a narrow escape during the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami. We had to stop by at this place while driving through Bend to go back to California from Seattle even though we had a late breakfast and weren't hungry at all. We felt bad about ordering only gyoza and a rice (power rice) ball but the lady who took the order was extremely generous. The food had the taste of Japanese mother's home cooking. Next time we visit Bend we'll definitely order their bento boxes! Bend-O Bento Japanese Kitchen is a memorable restaurant with the personal touch. Thank you!
