The 2 ladys working inside were extremly nice and helpful. Glad to see there are genuinely nice people still in the world. Make sure you stop by and get some food. The Brisket sandwich was by far the tastiest Brisket sandwich I've ever had.

After spending the morning on Shaver Lake we wanted something different than a hamburger in town. Took this 20 minute detour and discovered this hidden gem. Sadly the fresh baked bread was out for the day but the second choice Brisket Tacos were amazing nonetheless. Also enjoyed the Pork and Chicken tacos and my kids split a nacho that could have fed four. We will be back for sure. The drive is nice as well. You have to look past the fire scars to see the beauty but the falls of big creek could be seen from the front patio as we ate. Very enjoyable.

Down to Earth Bakery and Deli at Big Creek General Store Open 9am-6pM and Sunday 10am-3pm Laura Rojas is a long time Big Creek resident. Her daughter Mary is a Sierra High school graduate. A few years ago Laura started a camp called Camp Down to Earth for Mary and her friends with Down Syndrome. Laura no longer runs the camp in the summer, but she has now started the Down to Earth Deli and Bakery for Mary. When asked what kind of job she wanted, Mary always said she wanted to work at the Big Creek Store. Mary is excited to work alongside a lovely group of women in our welcoming little town of Big Creek! If you have not had a chance to come to Big Creek, you will find it is a beautiful little get away nestled in a small mountain canyon between Shaver Lake and Huntington Lake. The town boasts lovely views of granite domes and waterfalls. The store is serving delicious sandwiches, tacos, and salads, with freshly smoked meats! Along with a few signature desserts. One of which is named after former Big Creek resident Nancy Vanlandingham, "Nancy's Lemon Ice Box Cookie Sandwich".
