Big Friends Rome was recommended to us by our host on our very first evening in Rome — and it turned out to be such a great recommendation that we ended up coming back for two more nights. We tried a little bit of everything: beef tartare and oysters to start, followed by steamed salmon, radiatori pasta, lamb chops, and desserts such as a delicious hazelnut mousse. The wine and beer were excellent too. What really made the place stand out, though, was the service. Everyone was incredibly friendly, helpful and welcoming. Once you find a restaurant where you genuinely enjoy both the food and the atmosphere, why risk disappointing touristy places in the city centre? They even happily helped when my dad decided he wanted to try a plum liqueur — and, since they didn’t have exactly that, recommended a date liqueur instead. We had such a lovely time here and felt genuinely welcome every time we came back. Definitely one of the places we’ll remember from our stay in Rome.
