After enjoying Medgar Evers Home, visit this restaurant which is not far away. Nicely cooked catfish, sandwiches and pork chops are among the dishes to be ordered at Big John's Restaurant. The courteous staff works hard, stays positive and makes this place wonderful. This place is remarkable for its fast service. The exotic atmosphere will be really just what you need after a long working day. Based on the guests' feedback on Google, this spot deserved 4.3.

I'm sold. The building was recently restored and it was very clean. The music was very nice. The restaurant has a cheerful energetic atmosphere. The food was delicious. I ordered the catfish plate and it came with 3 pieces of fish, two rolls and fries. The fish was seasoned perfectly. It was fresh and absolutely delicious. The rolls tasted like Hawaiian sweet rolls and they were soft chewy and very tasty. I was also able to snag a picture of the bbq Wing plate. It wasn't mine. It belonged to another customer. But he said it was delicious. I also really liked the fact it appeared to family owned and it was family working together. That's the absolute best. Cons. The wait was longer than I would have hoped. The staff kept getting the orders confused. Two menus is very confusing. And parking could be better. But overall I give Big John's restaurant a score of FIVE! Because I enjoyed my meal and it was a great deal.
