I'm from Cleveland, but I'm in Akron regularly (my bf lives there). Since we pass this place all the time, we decided to try it. No cars in the parking lot on a Friday night should have been a red flag because BBQ joints in Cleveland are ALWAYS packed on a Friday night. We decided to keep it simple and ordered 2 polish boys ($10/ea) which is a little higher than Cleveland prices ($7/$8).The lady who took our order suggested upgrading to the dinner (2 sides) for an extra $5, so I added fries w/sauce and yams. So, $25 plus a $5 tip (the service was good). We get home and are highly disappointed. Worst polish boy I've ever had! The beef sausage was overcooked and dry as hell, and had NO "snap" at all. The fries had NO sauce and were fried too long or in old grease because they were hard and brown. The yams just tasted old, but the flavor was not bad (would probably taste better if they had been fresher). He threw his in the trash, and I picked over mine before doing the same. I'll stick to my Cleveland BBQ joints and leave this mess to Akron. Big Red's Express, please do better! Just because we came 1 hr before closing time, we still deserve quality food.
