It’s such a cool little restaurant, I really wanted to love it. Inside and out is so unique. Parking is weird. We made it though. When we got there it was clear they had gotten a bit of a rush. It was seat yourself so we were fine knowing we would wait a bit. Server came but just seemed like she hated life and existence entirely. Figured it was because it was busy. We ordered drinks. She brought those. Waited awhile for for her to come back to order. We ordered apps, and then food. Two of us got a salad bar. It was almost completely out of salad, but we both got one salad each. Food came; apps and entrees at the same time. Fried pickles were probably the best part. Ribs were decent, but the brisket was almost inedible. Oily but somehow still dry. We waited for quite awhile. Service was so slow. But it gave me time to figure out the table next to us was a manager, maybe, or owner, just sitting down hanging out watching tv while his staff is struggling, there was 4 people there. At some point someone asked them about the salad bar and the one guy got up to refill it, without washing his hands or anything, being on his phone and eating food just prior, and fiiled the salad mix and spread it out with his bare hands. Being in the restaurant business myself (server and bartender) I’m usually pretty understanding. But the whole experience just grossed me out. I asked the server on our way out if that was the manager and she did say it was the owner and his sons, I believe. I can totally understand why the servers hate their life’s there. It was busy and the owners would rather take up a table for chit chat than to help their staff and run the restaurant. I’ve heard the do great things for the community, so there’s that. But personally I’ll definitely just pass on this place next time. I put a lot more stock in food handling precautions to feel comfortable here and would prefer to support local restaurants that support their staff. Passing through and thought this would be a great alternative to McDonald’s by the freeway. Worse BBQ we have had, brisket was swimming in grease, just like grease gravy, and the beef tasted funny. Smoked sausage was basically jerky. Sides were so so The train car was cuteservice was not all that great. BBQ sauce was not good left with over half the plate on the table since we couldn’t get a waitress to come to rectify, since there was 2 for 8 table..pretty expensive for this horrible experience. Mcdonalds would have been better. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–30 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2

Absolutely amazing! If for any reason you find yourself in Wilcox or even within a hours drive, this place is worth traveling to! The food was fresh and so delicious. The meats were perfect, it's really hard to find good BBQ and this place nailed it. Even the drinks and salad bar were top tier. If you are looking for real smoked meat that tastes amazing this is the place.
