After a great day surfing at Croyde bay, the group decided to visit Billy Budds for tea. This pub restaurant is sat right on the village main road and is surrounded by surf shops, gift shops, and other food outlets. Billy Budds also shares a garden terrace with another restaurant. We visited on a Saturday afternoon on a peak surfing day and we found space to sit easily. Being served at the bar took moments, and food ordering was simple too. We didn't wait long for food to arrive either, which again was quite impressive considering how busy they were. The food was very tasty and a healthy size portion was served up. We sat outside on the terrace, but inside was actually roomy and full of nooks. There was also a pool table and multiple TVs to watch sport on. Pretty laid back atmosphere here and dog friendly. There is also enough room for wheelchair users and disabled toilets are available, as is a baby changing area. All in all, a pleasurable experience. Staff were helpful, polite and efficient.
