I want to give a VERY high compliment to the manager and waitstaff at Billy Hicks. My family was visiting from all over the country to attend my Grandmother’s funeral at Arlington Cemetery. Several family members are gluten free and we had 9 adults and 4kids. Because of the chaotic nature of people passing away, I did not give enough thought to needing to reserve a party room for a group the size. Derek, I hope you see this and you understand how much it means that you accommodated our family. We had a great meal. I got to be with family that I love very much and I never get to see. Kyla and Cayla thank you so much for taking such great care of our family. Appreciate you guys very much and if I’m back in Georgetown, I’m definitely coming in to say hi. Billy Hicks strikes a perfect balance in the Georgetown scene, offering a beautifully detailed interior (and spectacular balcony) that is effortlessly chic without losing its relaxed, approachable charm. High-ceilinged and warm, in a way that’s American with a decidedly continental streak—steering clear of anything dark or heavy—the space carries a timeless polish while operating with a smart and modern energy, leaning in to pay tribute to classic Georgetown without falling into the kitsch trap. You can immediately tell this is a place with staying power. It’s been done right. We stopped in for drinks and a few bites, starting with a perfectly mixed Aperol Spritz. (Though, a quick note: one must try the signature Mule). The kitchen takes familiar fare but executes it exceptionally well. The pretzel, fries, and nachos were all excellent, standing out through high-quality ingredients and precision rather than unnecessary pretension. Beyond the stylish setting and solid menu, which we look forward to trying more of, the operations are what truly make the place hum. It is clear there is excellent management behind the scenes, and our server, J, provided impeccable, seamless service from start to finish. An excellent spot. It truly delivers on the high notes and bustling ambiance of that unique and endangered species of the grand Georgetown brasserie, remaining at once inviting, polished, and wonderfully unfussy. Had a great time at Billy Hicks Georgetown. The food was amazing, the Steak melted in your mouth. The Salmon was cooked to perfection. The Chicken Nachos and the Bang Bang Shrimp are the appetizer to order. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
