Filipino dishes are to be tried here. Being at this restaurant, order perfectly cooked soup, balut and pork. The energetic staff welcomes guests all year round. Just had to take time to say some kind words about Billy Jacks Panciteria and the staff- from back to front. You see, I’m a vegetarian, which, in the Philippines is like having three arms. I wanted so badly to try the local food but my body just can’t handle meat anymore. So I got brave and went here. Explaining “no meat” was about as challenging as I thought it would be, and after an almost comical all-staff meeting in the back, complete with both cooks peeking their heads out to see who in the world is ordering pancit with no beef, cracklings, balut, fish, fish sauce, oyster sauce or any of the other things that they probably think makes food worth eating, they delivered the all veggie dish I was hoping for. And it was amazing. And I thank them from my heart for helping me experience a little bit of their culture without laughing or pointing or making me feel any stranger than I already do here. I will be back.
