After our long Colosseum and Roman Forum tour and feeling very hungry, we decided to go to Binario 4...BIG MISTAKE. Claiming to be a 'Trattoria,' we initially believed that the place would serve authentic, tasty food. In actual fact, however, the food was a disgrace to the Italian cuisine. We ordered 6 main dishes...none of them were good and although we were very hungry, we simply could not finish these. For example, the Marinara was oversized (half the pizza came out of the plate), had no shape and tasted as if a litre of tomato sauce had been poured onto the base. To make things worse, the garlic was raw and the oregano had no taste. Another dish we ordered was Spaghetti agli olio - the olive oil used had a weird smell and seemed to be reused from another dish. When we asked for some bread, as is standard among Italian restaurants, we were served only 2 dry pieces - which was clearly the leftovers of another customer.Overall, the only good part of the restaurant is it's close proximity to the Colosseum and Rome city centre - definitely a tourist trap. It is better to go hungry than eat here - not only was the food bad, it took very long to digest. P.S. We are not adding photos to this review as it was too disgusting.
