Had Sunday carvery, was amazing, staff were polite and attentive, was told when it was our turn to go to carvery so very little waiting, really good 1st visit. We visited the Bird in Hand in Fforest for dinner on the final night of our holiday, and it was absolutely brilliant. It’s a fantastic country pub with an extensive menu offering plenty of choice for everyone, including those with dietary requirements. The food was fresh, full of flavour, and beautifully prepared. There was also a great selection of drinks, including beers, ciders, soft drinks, and an excellent range of desserts and daily specials. I would recommend this pub to anyone passing through, staying nearby, or even making a special trip—it really is that good. The staff were attentive, friendly, and welcoming, and the service was quick and efficient throughout. They are dog-friendly in the Bar and Snug areas, which created a lovely, relaxed atmosphere. The pub itself was spotless and very well maintained. You could really tell that they take pride in providing a great experience, making every effort to cater for dietary requirements and allergies wherever possible. We were a table of seven and booked in advance, which I’d recommend. Overall, a fantastic country pub with exceptional food, outstanding service, and a welcoming atmosphere. We’ll definitely be returning! Very disappointing. Six of us visited on a Sunday evening. Drinks order messed up. Food was very mediocre, overpriced and not as described. pie of the day turned out to be a dry cheap chip shop type which was supposed to be steak and ale! Service was very slow, and when we asked to see the manageress, she couldn't be bothered to come out and sent a waitress instead. We complained by email and still got nowhere even though our total bill came to £118. The whole experience was an expensive and totally unacceptable way to treat customers.
