BOHK holds a special place in my heart for the countless group dinners I've had here. As Chinese places have taken an enormous hit even before covid-19 reached the level of pandemic, BOHK is one of many businesses in Chinatown whose prospects of reopening remain very uncertain. Here is my little ode to this sweet restaurant. Bite of Hong Kong, I've gotten to know you all too well over the years. Your semi-private space in the back hosted so many of my group dinners every month. In the early days of these dinners, we'd occupy a lone, 12 seat corner table and order to our heart's content. We'd spin the dishes across the lazy susan, and the sheen of fragrant oil on each dish would glimmer across our line of vision. It was like watching the reflection of a merry go round in someone's irises. As our monthly dinners grew from intimate dinners to 20-30 person extravaganzas, we'd spill out of the semi-private area and occupy 3 or 4 tables. We celebrated birthdays here and took shots of whiskey with the servers and it never bothered anyone, for the rest of the restaurant was just as loud as we were. The salted-egg eggplant remained such a favorite that we'd just make eye contact with one of the servers and they'd know to bring a few more of these dishes out, confident they'd be gobbled up within minutes. Your extensive menu of Cantonese dishes delighted our taste buds to no end, with the beef chow fun and the shrimp with mayonnaise being noteworthy hits at each dinner. We eventually outgrew the space and begrudgingly moved our dinners to larger, but not greener pastures. Though we brought steady business to BOHK, I think it was kind of a relief for them, because we were a handful. I've been meaning to bring a smaller, tamer group back here for the crispy salted yolk eggplant, because I miss it more than anyone could ever know. Thanks for the memories, and hope you open again someday.

Nice place for a fancy Cantonese meal. They have lots of cool dishes like fried duck tongues and salt and pepper squid. The staff is warm and helpful. Wasn't too crowded on a Monday night.
