The Black Dog in Bolton is a cozy establishment that serves high-quality pub food at reasonable prices. The restaurant is dog-friendly, and its outdoor courtyard is perfect for enjoying a meal with your furry friend. The ambiance is nostalgic, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. The interior design exudes warmth and comfort, making it an ideal place to unwind after a long day. The location is perfect for those who enjoy hiking, as it's situated near Rivington Reservoir.
The menu offers a variety of vegan options, and the fish special is a must-try. Their Steak and Ale pie is also a favorite among customers. For drinks, they serve White Rioja by the glass, and Joey Holts beer is a popular choice. They also have a good selection of soft drinks and wines.
Overall, the Black Dog is a great place to grab a bite to eat after a hike or to enjoy a night out with friends. Its warm ambiance, quality food, and reasonable prices make it a fine dining spot worth visiting.
The Black Dog as been one of my locals for many years. On my recent visit I left with a bitter taste after witnessing how disrespectful the management were to their staff.
I feel that a basic management course may benefit the current management.
We celebrated my birthday at the Black Dog recently. After not being able to reserve a table at another restaurant (because our party of 10 required a menu pre-order) our reservation was gladly accepted and we had a great time. The food, service and price was tremendous. It has always been a favorite of ours and heartily recommend it - you won't be disappointed.
