Visited with friends for lunch today, so disappointed, very sparse menu!! I decided on the fish finger sandwich which was dreadful, it’s expensive which I don’t mind if the food is good. We will definitely NOT make a return visit!!!!

I grew up a couple of miles from Blacker Hall Farm Shop, and I’ve been coming here for years. But now I live in France, where it’s very difficult to get a good English breakfast. I turned up to the cafe at 09:30 on Sunday morning the place was empty. I asked if I could get a breakfast, and was turned away because they “had a lot of bookings for 10:00”. If there service was quick, I’d have eaten and gone by then. Instead I’m hungry and looking for a place to eat. I congratulate them on their success. But if bookings are required. At least say so on the website.

Really disappointed. Visit regularly to eat at cafe and it seam recently each time we go menu has shrunk and quality of food less. Today I had the quiche pastry dry and caramelised onion jam not caramelised onion as stated too much jam and very little quiche. Coleslaw watery not the quality pre covid. Sadly I’m not sure I will eat there again when it was my favourite shop and cafe in the past.
