Time of visit: 2026 second quarter Great Flavors, But Disappointing Portions and Identity Crisis I recently visited Blackish to try their take on American-Asian street food. I ordered the Café de Paris steak alongside a Diet Pepsi, bringing the total bill to 91 SR. The Good: From a purely culinary standpoint, the kitchen knows what it’s doing. The quality of the meat was excellent—incredibly clean with absolutely no weird, rancid aftertaste. The Café de Paris sauce was beautifully balanced and didn't overpower the dish, and the hand-cut fries were brilliantly cooked to perfection. The Critique: While the execution of the food is great, the value proposition is completely off. The portion size and price point do not align with the restaurant's branding. It is marketed as "street food" (albeit a cleaner, elevated version), but the execution and pricing feel more like a French bistro menu. The branding feels all over the place. Most importantly, the portions are, quite frankly, a joke. The steak pieces are sliced into sheets literally as thin as paper. To put it in perspective, even my 8-year-old son would have walked away from this meal hungry. For 91 SR, a single diner should leave feeling satisfied. The Plan Going Forward: Because the flavor profile actually shows a lot of promise, I intend to visit Blackish moderately over the next three months. I will be ordering this exact same meal to truly test their consistency, food quality, and cleanliness over time. I genuinely hope to see the value match the taste in future visits. Message to Management: You have a great product in terms of taste and execution, but you seriously need to re-evaluate your portion-to-price ratio. I am not asking for massive, overwhelming plates, but adding just a bit more substance to the dish is necessary. When customers pay premium prices for "street food," they expect to be fed, not left looking for a second meal. Price per person: SAR 80–100
