I had a very disappointing experience with Boom Cafe, and I think people should know what actually happens beyond the curated image. I placed my order around midday, and from the start, communication was extremely poor. There was no clear confirmation, no updates on the status of my order, and no explanation about payment. I had to chase them for information, and even then, responses were delayed or ignored. After waiting far too long with no clarity, I canceled the order. That cancellation was completely ignored, and about 30–40 minutes later, the delivery driver still arrived. At the time, I was in a building with no working elevator, so I had to go down ten floors to collect the order. When it arrived, there was no receipt, and the driver explained he hadn’t been given one. He even had the wrong address written informally on paper. While he called the café, I overheard someone dismissively say, “don’t worry about her, just leave it,” which was highly unprofessional. When I got back upstairs, I discovered the order wasn’t even mine. They called shortly after, asking to correct it, but at that point I had already been waiting over two hours. I told them I would not be going downstairs again—they would have to come up. When the driver returned, I asked directly whether I was still expected to pay after all the inconvenience. The answer was yes. At that point, it made no sense. I had experienced poor communication, excessive delays, multiple errors, and still hadn’t received the correct order. Meanwhile, I was forced to order food from somewhere else because I was hungry. Paying for both was unreasonable. They then proceed to tell me that I could keep the wrong order but still had to pay for the correct one. I refused. I wasn’t going to accept or pay for anything after that experience. I returned the incorrect order and declined the new one entirely. This situation escalated to a point it never should have reached. What stands out most is the lack of accountability and basic customer care throughout the entire process. The place may look appealing online, but the service does not reflect that at all.
