We had our special date night here before our show at the opera house. The view is astounding and looks down the busy streets of Boston. The short of our review is that the food was good but not great and it was expensive. We started with bread and the rice balls. The bread was excellent and tasted like it was just out of the oven the rice balls were nothing special similar to a fried Mac and cheese ball. Texture wise they were grand but they could use a little more in the flavor department. We got fancy drinks and they were excellent, 18$ a drink. The Entrees were fine, the pasta was nothing special and tasted overcooked, the duck breast was good but the sauce tasted burnt and the portions were small. My favorite part was swiss chard on the bottom. Sitting in all of the juices made it a very tasty bite. The chocolate moose was a treat. Overall the dinner was 180$ including tip. We will try somewhere else next time we are in the area, but we are not sad we went. Price per person: $80–90

Blu was a lovely restaurant. Atmosphere was comforting and the view from the restaurant was spectacular. Service was quick and helpful. Food was great and perfect portions! Would definitely come back. Price per person: $40–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

My son and I had dinner there last night before a show in the theater district. My son got the scallops and shrimp risotto and I got the rack of lamb. Both of our dishes were absolutely tasteless. In fact, we were not certain if the food was OK to eat. This was an absolute bust and I highly recommend that you do not eat here. We spent $180 including tips and we would’ve been better off going to a McDonald’s. Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4
