French cuisine provides flavorsome food at this restaurant. At this place people can delve deep into delicious dishes, and try mouthwatering fried lobster, salads and lobster tail. The Blue Heron may please you with perfectly cooked cheesecakes and good crème brûlée. A lot of visitors order delicious wine, cognac or martinis. It's time to degustate great coffee.

Visit this place to celebrate an anniversary, wedding or a birthday party. The high ratings of this spot would be impossible without the cheerful staff. Fast service is something that guests note in their comments. Many reviewers think that the dishes have average prices. As you can see, this restaurant has the beautiful decor. The atmosphere of this place is peaceful. But zomato users haven't given The Blue Heron a high score.

Bullied to accept overcooked food On an August weekend trip to the Lake of the Ozarks, my friends and I decided to treat ourselves to a wonderful meal at the Blue Heron Restaurant.   Two of us ordered steaks, one rare and one medium-rare.  After more than an hour's wait, our waitress served us two well-done steaks.  When she returned to our table, we quietly reminded her that we had ordered a rare and medium-rare steak.  These were obviously not our steaks.  The waitress left to speak to the owner. Instead of replacing our steaks, we were given glasses and a bottle of liqueur for the table.  At this point we asked to speak with the owner. Instead of a polite conversation, the owner, Joseph Boer, proceeded to inform our table, and the people who surrounded it, that the steaks were correctly cooked; in thirty years no one had ever complained about the food; and the chef had worked at the restaurant for over twenty years.  He proceeded to tell us he would not comp our dinners because we could all afford to pay $54.00 for a steak.  He ended his rant with the fact that there were starving children in the world. We felt like we had been bullied. Never did he apologize for the long delay in our service or offer to replace our steaks. If a group of men had been at that table would the lecture have been the same? We left our food, paid our bill and WILL NOT be returning to the Blue Heron Restaurant.  What should have been an enjoyable night out turned into a disappointing evening at the Blue Heron Restaurant. Quick review--Disappointing Evening at Blue Heron Restaurant 0 Stars Poor service--over an hour wait for food Poor food--two well-done steaks instead of the rare and medium rare steaks that were ordered Poor management--owner who bullies instead of replacing poorly prepared expensive steaks Poor attitude--owner who lectures instead of listens to his
Totally romantic and well worth the prices.  We arrived early with our party of 10 and walked out back to the pool and lake side while awaiting our table. The pool area and view of the lake is OUTSTANDING!  We enjoyed a cocktail while enjoying the views, thank you!  Once seat we were not rushed during the evening and had a lot of time.  As the sunset the ambience inside was just as nice!  We enjoyed Escargot and a couple more appetizers, then we all ordered something different ( a few of us ordered the baked lobster- next time we would not) yet the steaks looks amazing and others said they were cooked to perfection!  Last but not least the bread pudding was a perfect ending to a perfect evening.
This the best place on the Lake for a romantic dinner.  Have not been here in 10 years but nothing has changed except the prices went up.  Great service and great food with a spectacular view from the patio. The batter fried lobster is worth every penny.  Do not go unless your willing to spend a couple hundred with wine.  That said how many times a year do you do it.  Great for a special occasion.
