The Bluff Inn in Hayle is a seaside establishment that offers classic pub fare with a stunning view of the beach. The cuisine type is traditional British, with dishes like fish and chips, lasagne, and burgers. The ambiance is casual and family-friendly, with a spacious front garden and indoor seating. The interior design is simple but could use some updating, as some customers have noted signs of wear and tear. The price range is reasonable, especially considering the prime location next to the beach. The establishment offers outdoor seating, perfect for enjoying the view on a sunny day. They also have a bar with a selection of beers, wines, and cocktails, including a refreshing cider shandy and a glass of wine. Visitors should be aware that parking is not free, but the establishment offers a refund if you dine or drink there. Overall, the Bluff Inn is a decent place to grab a bite after a day at the beach, with a beautiful view and friendly staff.

Lovely pub was worried it would lose its character a bit once it became wetherspoons but it's just as nice. Lots more room to sit than before. Picture is the view from dining tables. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We visited The Bluff Inn in Hayle on evening 20 August 2026, and unfortunately the experience has left a very bitter taste. The food itself was satisfactory, but nothing particularly special, especially considering that we waited over an hour for it to arrive (after already waiting around 20min to find a table, place was busy, that part is understandable). The biggest issue, however, was the parking. We parked directly outside the restaurant and, as paying customers, reasonably assumed the parking was connected with the venue and available for customers. We did not see any clear or prominent signs making us aware that payment was required. What makes this even more frustrating is that the parking charge for one hour is 60p. Sixty pence. Had we seen a clear sign or been made aware that we needed to pay, we would have happily paid it without a second thought. We couldn't see a pay machine after we arrived. Instead, we have now received a £100 parking charge — almost the same amount as we spent inside the restaurant. To go from a 60p parking fee to a £100 charge simply because the requirement was not sufficiently obvious is absolutely ridiculous. If a restaurant benefits from customers parking immediately outside its premises, I believe it should take some responsibility for making the parking arrangements crystal clear to its guests. A simple reminder from staff, a clear notice at the entrance, or prominent signage could prevent situations like this. Had we known that eating at The Bluff Inn could result in our visit effectively costing us almost double, we simply would not have gone. The parking situation has completely overshadowed the meal and turned what should have been an enjoyable visit into an unnecessarily stressful and very expensive experience. Anyone visiting should check the parking arrangements extremely carefully. Apparently, missing a 60p parking payment can result in a £100 surprise afterwards. Despite of beautiful views and friendly staff we certainly will not be returning. Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £20–30

Utterly dreadful. All food and drinks served in cardboard boxes. Half the menu choices weren’t available including Childrens pasta….( What restaurant doesn’t do pasta? ) No coke, no brandy, no dry ginger the list went on and on. Waited 1.5 hours to be informed :” there is always a 45 minute wait for food “. Rats running round the grounds and inaccessibility to appropriate seating for disabled.
Can the last man out please switch the lights off-permanently
