After a couple of hours at the beach and before heading back into Roma we stopped here for seafood based on the recommendations. Definitely worth it. We each had starters and main course plus a beer. The highlight for me was the seafood pasta. Packed with prawns, squid, mussels and cockles. Delicious. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €30–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

1 star is honestly too generous. While the food we actually received was decent, the overall experience was extremely disappointing due to the poor service. We waited around 15 minutes before anyone even came to take our order, all while sitting outside in the burning sun. The starter arrived fairly quickly, but after that we were left waiting over an hour with no sign of our main course or any update from staff, still stuck sitting in the heat. During this time, we also saw other customers leave after waiting just to receive menus. After more than an hour of waiting following our starter, we decided to leave. Instead of apologising, explaining the delay, or even giving us an estimate on how much longer the food would take, we were told that our server “didn’t speak English” — despite the fact that we had ordered our food in English without issue earlier. To make matters worse, we were still expected to pay the full bill despite never receiving the rest of our meal. We ended up going to McDonald’s afterwards because we were still hungry. Our order there was placed at 14:35 and we were already eating by 14:37, which only highlighted how unacceptable the service here was. Overall, this was a very frustrating and disappointing experience, and unfortunately not somewhere I could recommend. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €20–30 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Il Pesce di Ostia is a restaurant that celebrates the best of maritime cuisine with a mastery that deserves every praise. Among the stellar dishes, tagliatelle with clams stands out for its transformative simplicity. The dish is a triumph of flavors, where very fresh clams blend harmoniously with a light sauce, enhancing the perfectly al dente pasta. The scampi risotto is another masterpiece on the menu. Each spoonful is an explosion of flavour, with succulent, perfectly cooked scampi swimming in a creamy risotto, creamed to perfection. The culinary mastery here is seen in the ability to balance intense flavors without overpowering the delicate sweetness of the scampi. The service at Pesce di Ostia completes the culinary experience with a professionalism and friendliness that are rare to find. The waiters are expert connoisseurs of the menu and know how to guide customers in their choices, creating a welcoming atmosphere that invites them to return. Visiting it is not just going to eat, but living a gastronomic experience that leaves an indelible mark. In short, Il Pesce di Ostia is not just a restaurant, it is a destination for lovers of good seafood. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
