From the moment you walk in, the boars head feels like a real local should. The atmosphere is spot on – lively but not chaotic, with a good mix of regulars, lads coming in after work, and people settling in to watch the footy or a big fight. The staff are what make it. Always friendly, quick with a pint, and happy to have a proper chat even when it’s busy. You can tell they know their customers and actually care about the place, which you don’t get in every pub. Drinks are top notch. The lagers are always well kept, there’s a solid range of ales and ciders, and the Guinness is poured properly every time. Prices feel fair for the area, especially compared to some of the chain places nearby. The space itself is clean, warm and well looked after. Whether you’re catching the match on the big screens, having a game of pool, or just having a quiet pint in the corner, it works for any kind of night out. If you’re after a reliable local with great drinks, a proper atmosphere and staff who actually make you feel welcome, The boars head is a 10/10. Already my go-to spot in Ruthin and I’ll keep recommending it to anyone who asks. Thank you guys! Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Good clean pub. Helpful staff and great atmosphere. Very welcoming. Deals on drinks . No food currently served but plenty of room in the big well looked after beer garden for potentially a food stall, that is something I'd like to see in the future. Overall an enjoyable pub, will return.
