British food is worth a try here. Here you will be able to taste perfectly cooked fish & chips, rump steaks and gammon. Myself and my wife call into the Boldforester now and again have a meal on the odd occasion had a meal yesterday had to send it back as it was cold bacon not cooked though sausage was tasteless beans and hash browns superb mushrooms very wrinkly they took it away and delivered a new one but that was just as bad like it was just re heated in the microwave will dine there again but will order what i am familiar with don't normally complain but had to on this occasion Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

very poor meal tonight the worst I have had in any hungry horse six chips on my meal complained about it to be told "well the head chef is in tonight " as if that was some justification. Well head chef you have just lost a very regular customer hope the company are proud of your service UPDATE - THANKYOU to the team at Bold Forester for their prompt response and gift card received in the post much appreciated Price per person: £30–40 Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4

So, early this evening, myself & 6 of my ex-work colleagues had a few beers & meals at "The Boldie" !!
Initially, we sat outside but, being of a certain age, we moved inside to "Table 40" !!
The meals were served with no problem & special thanks to the barman who apologised & said that the "Old Moor Porter" (I may have got it's name wrong-sorry !!) hadn't actually run out but that ..."a ball had dropped in the cellar barrel , at which point a few pints of this were ordered !!
This same barman &, sorry, don't know his name but he had a really nice beard, and for a beer which cost £3+ (With a CAMRA discount) I accidently handed him £5 + & upon realising this, he returned the £2 to me so, yes, in summing up, this being the 1 st. pub we had visited for nearly 18 months for the most of us, a big thank you to all the staff for your hard work , especially , from when we got there at 6 pm, you were REALLY busy !!
