Bongu is a quaint little establishment in Fuji located on Heigakihoncho, offering a delightful selection of bread and baked goods. Despite its small size, it features a variety of standard breads and even some shaped like characters, appealing to a range of tastes. Customers often stop by in conjunction with other activities in the area, drawn in by the appealing scents of freshly baked sourdough and delectable salted bread. While there are no wheelchair-accessible amenities, parking is available, though it might pose some challenges due to the limited space.
Open from Monday to Saturday, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Bongu serves patrons mainly through takeout since delivery options aren’t available. The bakery focuses on quick visits, and being able to pay through Rakuten Pay is a handy convenience for customers. The owner is reputedly attentive to ingredient quality, which is evident in the bread’s taste and texture. While it does not accept wheelchair access, the intimate setting means visitors may need to be patient during their visit due to its compact space.
The reviews available indicate warm customer service and a culinary focus that doesn’t compromise quality for cost, aligning with its reputation for being an affordable option. Patrons seem particularly fond of the salted bread and the ready-bake dough available for home baking enthusiasts. The bakery’s operational details are subject to change, so potential visitors might want to check for any updates before planning their visit.

It's a small bakery, and there are only a few types of bread, but the clerk is also a very nice person. The sourdough bread was delicious.

Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
