Tucked inside the new Arts Museum and movie theater complex, this café is a gem — perfect for quiet laptop sessions or a good conversation over coffee. The coffee is the real draw here. Every drink is carefully crafted, and the roasters they source from are top-notch — you can taste the difference. Milk options lean alternative, though: whole, oat, and almond are your choices. If you’re after low-fat or skim dairy, you’ll want to know that going in. Safe to say, this won’t be my last visit. Meal type: Other Price per person: $1–10 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I'll start this off by saying my wife enjoys the coffee here, and I like the baked goods well enough. Coming here as adults is fine enough, it's not the cozy coffee shop setting I'd prefer but it's artsy and modern which is fine. However I do have some gripes, there is not nearly enough seating for when it gets busy, so hopefully you like standing room only. Also bringing your kids here is interesting, they have tons of paper and and markers for kids to draw, but the tiny "kids corner" is jammed under a set or stairs to the next floor. There are serious tripping hazards right next to the kids area and the support pillar for the stairs is a serious head smasher due to its angled support beams. The benches for the kids are also fastened to the floor so there is no way to make it more efficient or safer. Clearly this was an afterthought and oversight. So if you bring your kids, just expect them to potentially go home with a hurt shin or goose egg on their head. Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: $1–10 Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 2

Hi Nicholas, Thanks for stopping in and for the review. Glad you enjoyed the coffee. The common area is not under the purview of Borderlands Coffee, however I understand the frustration when a table is not available. Saturday mornings get busy! (Be sure to check the street side of the building. There are a few more tables over there.) Art carts are generously provided by Colby College. There is no kids corner under the stairs. That is down near the elevator where there are books and a few toys for young children. There is, however, a bench for supplemental seating under the stairs. The metal rod that is a tripping hazard is meant to define an area under the stairs that is off limits. Due to the climbability of that area, though, it does naturally attract children. Thanks for grabbing a coffee with us. Hope to see you again.

I love Borderlands Coffee! Their coffee selections are so fun (forever will dream about the cloud matcha latte, as well as the Dubai chocolate latte I had a while back) and the baristas are really kind and helpful. Definitely would recommend for a pick me up! Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: $1–10 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
