I have been eating at various pizza restaurants throughout San Antonio since I first moved here, back in 1980. And it took me until October 2019 before I finally discovered that the best pizza in the whole San Antonio metropolitan area is not in San Antonio at all, but on the north side of New Braunfels, TX. This incredible pizza restaurant takes the form of a family-owned franchise restaurant whose "mothership" is located in Fort Worth, TX. The pizza that comes out of the kitchen at Bosses Pizza, Wings & Burgers is truly magical! Believe me, it's like nothing you've ever had before. It's truly the best pizza that I've ever tasted in this part of Texas! Believe it or not, you can take home your leftover pizza, heat it in the microwave the next day, and it's just as delicious and tasty and perfectly textured as it was when you were eating it fresh out of the oven at the restaurant. That's why I call this pizza magical. I have never brought home leftover pizza from any other restaurant in the San Antonio area that tastes anywhere near as good as Bosses pizzas always do. I asked one of the owners at Bosses what their secret was to them serving such magical pizza. And their response was that they only order the highest quality ingredients for their pizzas, and that they make each pizza from scratch. All I can say is their tomato-based pizza sauce is heavenly, and the melted fresh mozzarella cheese is equally impressive. And they definitely load up their pizzas with whatever toppings you order. My favorite pizzas at Bosses include The Big "O" specialty pizza, which has a mix of 6 different meat toppings and 5 different vegetable toppings on it. Also, their BBQ Chicken pizza is outstanding. And their version of a build-your-own sausage and mushroom pizza will knock your socks off! But no matter what pizzas you decide to order, make sure to order them with the hand-rolled crust option, which is the best style of pizza crust that they make. This thicker, softer-style, pretzel-tasting crust has a delightful flavor to it, without any toppings or cheese or pizza sauce on it at all. Let's put it this way. I have never left any hand-rolled crust edges from Bosses pizza on the plate or thrown them into the trash when I'm eating their leftover pizza at the house. Like I said, take the short drive to Bosses Pizza in New Braunfels and have this one-of-a-kind, magical pizza lunch or dinner with your family. I can guarantee you won't be disappointed. And as an added bonus, after lunch or dinner, you can always run up to Buc-ee's off IH 35 North (which is just under 2 1/2 miles away from Bosses Pizza) for their yummy fresh-made fudge sampler package, or a large package of Buc-ee's Beaver Nuggets.
