Small restaurant with a very lively bar area. Food was okay at best. Not a fan of the tortillas, but that’s just me. And the salsa that’s comes with the chips is SO SMALL, I could’ve used it all on three chips alone. Speaking of small, the menu is also limited with not much variety. Perfect for a spot to get a drink before going out/dinner/elsewhere. Was worth the try but probably wouldn’t go back Price per person: $30–40 Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

Just had one of the most unforgettable meals at Botanero in Chicago’s Wicker Park! From the moment we walked in, the vibe was effortlessly chic and lively, and every dish and drink that came out of the kitchen was a work of art. The flavors were bold, inventive, and beautifully balanced — a perfect blend of authentic Mexican tradition and upscale creativity. Chef Yanitzin “Yani” Sanchez has crafted a menu that truly sings — each bite was more exciting than the last. Her approach to small bites (botanas) and elevated dishes takes Mexican cuisine to a whole new level right here in Chicago. ‍ ️ • Gorgeous presentation and delicious textures • Innovative dishes that feel both familiar and exciting • Brilliant cocktail pairings — from smoky mezcal drinks to perfectly balanced margaritas If you love sophisticated food, beautiful drinks, and a night filled with flavor and fun, Botanero is at the top of the list. Can’t wait to go back! Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $50–60 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
