I have loved Bouchee in the past, and want this review to be more of a chance for improvement. I want to be clear, that before this, I have had wonderful experiences. While I have been to the high tea many times, this time I have a medical condition which made me unable to eat nuts and seeds, and despite warning them weeks in advance, no effort was made to change the scone (lemon poppyseed, which I have never seen a seed scone here previously ironically). I understand it is a pre fix menu, but the lack of any attempt at accommodations (such as knocking the price off for the scone I could not eat at all, or setting aside plain dough, or offering something else), was disheartening. Additionally, some of the sandwiches were incredibly odd. I have friends with shellfish allergies, would they not be accommodated, as this time they had a shrimp sandwich if they came? I think Bouchee confections would benefit greatly from having some high tea standbys available, such as traditional tea sandwiches or plain scones. I don't want to be too much of a Karen, and just simply hope to see some improvements.
