Have never felt belittled in an establishment before coming here. As a woman of color, I would not recommend anyone who looks like me to come here. From the first encounter and seeing the baristas demeanor change from before serving me to after serving, I could tell this place most likely wouldn't be seeing me again. Carmel latte 3/10 and Red velvet muffin 1/10 After seeing a review regarding the red velvet cheesecake muffin, I proceeded to order it I would rate it one out of 10, wouldn't recommend. After one singular bite, I returned to the barista and asked if there was anything he could do for me. That muffin was not good. He chuckled in my face and said "I mean there is nothing I can do being that you took one bite out of it people don't do that, "and then said "I have never heard anybody saying that the particular muffin isn't good." after I asked again if there was anything he could do he said no I said well is there anybody that I could talk to? Then he proceeds to call his manager and his manager offers me an exchange or a card (for another coffee). I was excited to support a local coffee shop within the area, but they will not be getting my business again. Hate that i had this experience.

Brewing beans grown in Rwanda, Bourbon Coffee is a spacious cafe near George Washington University. With a full coffee menu, the seasonal maple spice latte was semi-sweet and nice. There are many couches and tables with enough outlets and wifi. The tables have books about Rwanda. Bourbon Coffee is a great place to study or work!
