Braustuberl Weihenstephan is the restaurant at *yes* the world's oldest brewery so visiting there was like making a pilgrimage to a religious shrine for me and my wife. And yes, it was worth it. They serve traditional Bavarian food, which means many of the choices are pork or sausage dishes served with potato salad (pretty good) or potato dumplings (delicious). The typical starter is the Bavarian salted pretzel (Brez'n) with a half liter of wheat beer, or Hefeweizen. Because the restaurant is at the brewery, I recommend trying such other beers as Vitus or Korbinian (named after St. Korbinian, first Bishop of Freising). You won't be sorry. Plan to walk back to your hotel!
