Nestled in the heart of Wismar, Brauhaus am Lohberg is a traditional German gasthaus that serves hearty cuisine and house-brewed beer. The establishment's rustic ambiance and cozy interior design, complete with vines of hops draping from the ceiling, add to its historic charm. Outdoor seating is available for those who prefer al fresco dining. Live music is also featured later in the evening, adding to the vibrant atmosphere. Located near the center of Wismar, it's easily accessible for both locals and tourists alike. Prices are reasonable, making it a great spot for a casual meal or drinks with friends.
The menu includes classic German fare such as pork schnitzel and goulash, as well as fresh seafood dishes like the Baltic fish sampler with cod and plaice. The cocktail and beer boards, with Wismar Mumme and Pilsner beers being popular choices, are also recommended. For non-alcoholic options, they offer a variety of soft drinks.
Overall, Brauhaus am Lohberg is a great dining spot that's worth a visit for its historic charm, hearty cuisine, and house-brewed beer.
First of all, given the very nice service, we recommend looking for another restaurant. Anyone who does their job in this industry with such passion can only be burned in a place like this. The food wasn't burnt, but it was ruined by being reheated several times and was in poor condition, risking damage to your health. What was once a good restaurant has degenerated into a low-level sale of leftovers. The beer and homemade spirits are recommended. You have to avoid eating, especially if you, as a vacationer, want to enjoy your free time without additional trips to the toilet. Food: 1 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3
Delicious beer and nice service. The location has a nice atmosphere and is close to the harbor. Unfortunately the food is average at best. Price per person: €20–30 Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
The beer is good. But the Turkish waiters tried to charge me for two beers instead of one. Is it because I am a foreign tourist? Be careful in this place.
