The place is okay. Nothing to write home about. The only redeemer is the clam chowder. The server had the most fake smile I've ever seen (Even by California standards). Too expensive for the food quality and service. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $30–50 Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4 Recommendation for vegetarians: Not sure

You know what they say, "Location, location, location." This is the rule of law in real estate, the same holds true for restaurants; especially in tourist locations such as Santa Barbara. The Breakwater restaurant at the marina in Santa Barbara is right in the middle of a tourist populated area. Yes, there are many locals who hover to this area, but there are also a good share of tourists here. At this restaurant you will find food that is simple, and for a lack of better words...forgettable. Think Denny's diner food and quality, although the prices are double here. Remember you are paying for location and the scenery. Some advice, if you dine here, opt for the patio. This is the best way to take in the scenery of a wonderful location. The restroom situation here is just plain weird; you have to walk through the kitchen to use them. Just follow the signs. Yes, it is weird, and you will probably find yourself asking an employee while you feel awkward walking through the kitchen. Don't fret, if you pass through the kitchen, then you are on the right path for the restroom. Lastly, if you want to try to save some money, don't park here. The parking spots here are few and far between, and it is not cheap. Inside tip, park on Cabrillo...it's free! Take a small walk over to the Breakwater, you can even look at the boats docked in the marina on your way over.
