The Bridge Inn, located in the charming village of Ruswarp just outside of Whitby, is a cozy country pub serving up delicious home-cooked food at reasonable prices. The establishment's rustic ambiance is enhanced by an open fire and welcoming staff, making it the perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring the North Yorkshire coast. The interior design is simple yet charming, with small touches like fresh flowers on the tables adding to the overall ambiance.
The menu is limited but well executed, with dishes such as Whitby Scampi with homemade chips and salad, Veg Lasagne with garlic bread, and Steak and Ale Pie being standouts. The portions are generous, and the prices are excellent value for money. The drinks menu includes a good selection of local ales and beers, as well as a variety of soft drinks and wines.
One of the special features of The Bridge Inn is its beer garden, which overlooks the River Esk and the steam railway, providing a picturesque backdrop for a pint or meal. The establishment is also dog-friendly, making it a great spot for pet owners to relax and enjoy a meal or drink.
Overall, The Bridge Inn is a fantastic place to visit for those seeking a traditional country pub experience with excellent food and friendly service. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this eatery is well worth a visit.

Bit of a long story. TL:DR 10/10 service, food and hospitality. So I blew a tyre round the corner and needed to wait about for the RAC to rescue me, so popped along initially just seeking some WiFi and possibly some electricity for my phone. But when I realised I’d be waiting hours, what better place could I choose than the Bridge Inn. The staff were wonderful and the food was excellent, just what I needed after a stressful time. Thank you to everyone for being so accommodating, understanding and kind to a weary traveller. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: £20–30
