Wrangling a dozen adults and seven sugar-fueled kids for a Sunday reunion requires a strategy. We chose this place for one reason: the indoor play area. Big mistake. It was bolted shut, "awaiting repair"—absolute baloney. We sat at tables with a high-gloss, sticky grip capable of peeling skin, served by staff profoundly allergic to common sense and basic hospitality who treated us like an invading army. Then came the Sunday roast—a culinary war crime. The veg was liquid mush, the beef overcooked to buggery, the turkey a microwave-resurrected sponge, and the roast potatoes hardened into medieval caltrops. When my mother-in-law's cooking looks like a Michelin-starred masterclass by comparison, you've hit rock bottom. Without a doubt, the worst roast in human history. Did I mention it was cheap? You get what you pay for—in this case, pure psychological trauma. Never again.

Attended with the family, mainly choosing the venue because it had a soft play to keep the kids entertained. The soft play was closed. The service was virtually non-existent. Short of collecting the food from the kitchen ourselves, we had to do pretty much everything. The food itself was edible, but certainly not good enough to tempt me back. There are plenty of other options around, and I think I’ll be trying those first.

We had a great experience at The Bridge Inn Yatton. The kitchen staff clearly take pride in what they do — the food was well prepared, arrived promptly, and everything tasted fresh and delicious. It’s always nice to see a team working smoothly behind the scenes. A special mention has to go to Piper, whose customer service was excellent from start to finish. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, Piper made sure we had everything we needed and added a really positive touch to the whole visit. Great food and great service — we’ll definitely be back. Service: 5
