Beow’s delivering! Really glad I found this place. Came in to get some work done and ended up staying longer than planned, in the best way. Internet was solid, service was friendly without being intrusive, and the menu had everything you’d want from a quality cafe. Took a work call, knocked out emails, did some reading. It handled all of it without missing a beat. The kind of place that works for whatever you need it to, focused solo work, a casual catch up, or just a good cup of coffee with nowhere to be. Easy recommend. Already planning to come back. Price per person: $1–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

A bit hidden, but definitely worth finding. The latte was amazing, and their house made syrups really set them apart. The maple black walnut flavor was uniquely wonderful. They also have plenty of indoor seating and a good selection of pastries, making it a great spot. I will definitely be back. Meal type: Other Price per person: $1–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I use to love this place a lot more but it seems like they're changing all of a sudden. New name, they seemed to have gotten rid of their bookshelves, different sandwich recipes, and different hours. I use to get "the balrog" but now its completely different. The Sauce taste different and the chicken isnt even breaded now and its chopped up and I know that it is not the only sandwich that has changed *Unless* they use different recipes based on the bread you choose(which i doubt). Smaller portions for the same price. Everyone there is still nice and the coffee is still good. I mainly went for the food and good atmosphere, but now (for me) its eating food i dont fully love while noticing all of the magic and spark is gone. This place is still good and i still recommend it, but not the same and sadly no longer a go to for me. I followed them on social media and I didnt even know this place was under new management until I read these new reviews. Hey Divinity, Thank you for the feedback. I agree with your take on the Balrog, We used to pan fry the Chicken, but the health inspector came and told us that we did not have the proper ventilation to keep doing that, so unfortunately we had to pivot to grilled chicken. We also switched to a higher quality hot sauce that tastes better in most items, but does not have the same strength in the fire cheese. You tried the first batch with the new hot sauce, and we are working to reformulate it to have the strength it used to have. Other than that all of the other menu items are still the same recipes. We do still have a used book section, but we had to discontinue new books, since the upkeep costs were substantially more than the book sales, and we could not afford to keep taking a loss on the new books. Sorry that we did not meet your expectations. We hope that you will give us another chance as we continue to strive for excellence, and bring warmth and magic back into the space.
