I am not much of a fish and chips fan mostly because many fish and chips are COD (which I am not much of a fan of). As such, I rarely frequent "strictly" fish and chips restaurants. However, I decided to try a fish and chips restaurant nearby my hotel (on my first night in Montreal). This restaurant actually had several selections of fish for fish and chips, which was nice to see. I ordered the salmon fish and chips. This was my first time having fried salmon. The fish was well seasoned (yes I could still taste the seasoning in or with the batter), fried well, and the chips (fries) were good as well. In addition to the chips, I ordered the baked beans. The baked beans were not good at all. Baked beans should at least be average when served at any type of fish fry restaurant. This is the only reason why I did not award 5 stars. When the server asked, "how was everything?"....I stated that I enjoyed everything except the baked beans. The server voluntarily offered to take the baked beans off the bill (which was very kind). The servers were friendly and responsive, AND the restaurant plays really nice music.
One of the best Fish and Chips I've ever tried, not giving 5 starts beacuse it's a bit oily and haven't got ful but good got a bit heavy, nevertheless gonna come back soon
